The expert meeting, held in Malta, brought together 27 practitioners (including investigators, prosecutors, judges, and defence counsel \u2013 all with invaluable experience in dealing with terrorism-related matters) <meta charset=\"utf-8\">\u2013 from 23 countries across North, West, and East Africa, Southeast Asia, Europe, and North America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the two-day meeting, the practitioners shared their experiences and challenges in investigating, prosecuting, defending, and adjudicating terrorism cases. Presenting on real-world cases in which they themselves had played a role, the practitioners discussed how their respective legal systems address key challenges that arise in terrorism prosecutions.
