IIJ Presents Three-Year Programme to Advance Women’s Leadership

In the latest edition of the EU Knowledge Hub on Prevention of Radicalisation Digital Magazine, dedicated to Gender and PCVE, The International Institute for Justice and the Rule of Law (IIJ) presents its three-year programme to strengthen women’s participation and leadership in counter-terrorism across the MENA, East and West Africa, and Central and Southeast Asia regions. The programme is funded by the European Union through the Service for Foreign Policy Instruments (FPI).

A key component of the initiative is the development of a Global Counterterrorism Forum (GCTF) Framework Document on Strengthening Women’s Participation and Leadership in Counter-Terrorism, which will translate international commitments into practical guidance for justice and security institutions.

As a next step, the initiative’s Reference Group of Experts will meet for the first time in Nairobi at the end of this month to begin shaping the Framework Document.
